How does it work?
Once you've finished your refills (pouch or 5L jerrycan), if they are still in a usable condition, we will take them back to clean on site and refill them in a future production run. This is really important to us as it extends the lifespan of our packaging and keeps plastic away from landfills.
If you have 4 pouches or jerrycans saved up and want to return them to us to be filled again, please follow the steps below.
If you need help with this, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Made to be refilled
Designed for endless reuse
Our 1L and 5L refills are made to be refilled & reused many times. All packaging is made from multi-layered, BPE-free plastics, ensuring their durability and safety for multiple re-use. Miniml’s pioneering technologies allow us to clean & sanitise each refill batch in just under 2 minutes, using green-powered energy and preserving water with our filtering system. This process helps us not only save millions of refills from landfill, but also reduce our carbon footprint.
Turning empties into something new
When your refills reach the end of their life, we pass them on to our recycling partner. They transform the plastic into a unique material which is a strong, versatile sheet that can then be crafted into office and school furniture. This means damaged empties don’t just get recycled, they’re reinvented into something that can be used for years to come.

What happens when the containers when they are returned?
What happens when the containers when they are returned?
At Miniml HQ we have a large industrial washer to clean and re-use empty containers, they are then put back into production to use again and again!
What are the 1L pouches made of?
What are the 1L pouches made of?
They are made from a multi-layer plastic (PET & PP). 'Why?' you ask! This is because pure plastic increases both the strength and durability of the refills as they have essentially been designed to be reused over and over again. The reason we haven’t used Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) material is that the pouch wouldn’t be as strong or durable so wouldn’t last as long in our closed loop process. As well as this we are using a non-thermal sanitation process which involves UVC light and this wouldn’t be compatible with PCR materials as they can contain impurities that can be impacted by the UVC light.
How are the pouches cleaned and sanitised?
How are the pouches cleaned and sanitised?
The pouches will be cleaned and sanitised via non-thermal sanitation process as the material is flexible and not as durable as our other HDPE 5L and 20L refills. This further reduces the degradation of the material compared with chemical or heated sanitation processes allowing for the longevity of the pouch within our closed loop system.
