Pet-Friendly Cleaning Products: Keep Your Home Clean Without Harming Your Pets

Pet-Friendly Cleaning Products: Keep Your Home Clean Without Harming Your Pets

🐾 Pet-Friendly Cleaning Products: Keep Your Home Clean Without Harming Your Pets When you share your home with furry companions, keeping things clean becomes a daily priority, but did you know that many conventional cleaning products could be putting your pets at risk? From harsh chemicals to artificial fragrances, the ingredients in your average cleaning cupboard might be doing more harm than good. At Miniml, we're all about safe, sustainable swaps - so here’s everything you need to know about pet-friendly cleaning products and why they matter. Why You Should Avoid Conventional Cleaning Products Around Pets Many high-street cleaning products contain ingredients that are toxic to pets. While these substances may get the job done, they can lead to serious health issues in cats, dogs, and other animals. 🚫 Ingredients to Avoid: Ammonia: found in many glass and floor cleaners; causes respiratory irritation. Bleach (Sodium Hypochlorite): can burn paws and mouths if licked or walked on. Phthalates: often found in synthetic fragrances; can impact hormone function. Formaldehyde: used as a preservative; linked to cancer and allergic reactions. Chlorine: found in disinfectants and toilet bowl cleaners; highly toxic to pets. Even "fresh" smelling floors and worktops could be causing stress to your pet's more sensitive nose or worse, long-term damage to their health. What Makes a Cleaning Product Pet-Friendly? A pet-safe cleaning product should be free from harsh chemicals and instead made with natural, non-toxic ingredients. Look for products that are: Free from artificial fragrance and dyes Biodegradable and eco-friendly Hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin Non-toxic if ingested or inhaled in small amounts At Miniml, our range of natural cleaning products is designed with every member of the family in mind, including the four-legged ones. Glass vs PET: What’s the Best Choice for a Sustainable Refill Routine?

Glass vs PET: What’s the Best Choice for a Sustainable Refill Routine?

Glass vs PET: What’s the Best Choice for a Sustainable Refill Routine? When it comes to making sustainable swaps in your home, one question keeps popping up: “Should I choose a glass or plastic bottle for refills?” At Miniml, we offer both. Here we will discuss the benefits and flaws of both options. Read on to choose yours!     Why Plastic Can Be the Better Option Not all plastics are created equal. Our PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles are made with durability, safety, and circularity in mind. Here’s why they make sense for most households: Lightweight & Shatterproof: Unlike glass, PET bottles are less likely to break, making them a safer option for bathrooms, kitchens, or homes with children and pets. Low Carbon Footprint: PET takes less energy to manufacture and transport than glass, making it the more carbon-efficient choice, especially important for nationwide delivery and logistics. Closed-Loop System: Our refill bottles are collected, cleaned, and reused as part of our closed-loop circular system, ensuring they don’t end up in landfill. BPA-Free & Safe: Our PET bottles are food-grade, free from BPA and other harmful chemicals, and won’t leach microplastics when used as intended. Long-Lasting & Reusable: With proper care (rinsing between refills, storing away from direct sunlight), our PET bottles can be reused for years before needing to be recycled.   In fact, reusing your PET bottle 10 times can reduce its carbon footprint by up to 90% compared to a single-use alternative. But What About Microplastics? This is a valid concern, and one we take seriously. Our bottles are designed for long-term use and tested to meet stringent safety standards. They do not shed microplastics under normal household use. If your bottle becomes damaged or scratched over time, simply recycle it and replace - that’s when it’s time for a fresh one. 💎 When Glass is the Right Choice We get it, glass looks great. It’s weighty, minimal, and ideal if you're aiming for a plastic-free lifestyle. That’s why we offer glass refill bottles for customers who want that countertop aesthetic or for products like hand soap that aren’t handled as frequently. However, glass also comes with: A higher production footprint Greater breakage risk More carbon emissions during transport due to its weight   That’s why we recommend glass for lower turnover products or customers who can refill in-store and PET for heavy-use, everyday cleaning and laundry items. 🧼 The Bottom Line? Whether you’re team PET or team glass, what matters most is refilling. The more times you reuse a bottle, the better its environmental performance becomes. At Miniml, we’ve designed both options to work within our circular system - whether you return your empty refill packaging to us or refill your bottle locally using our stockist finder. Whatever you choose, thanks for joining us on the journey to reduce waste, ditch single-use plastic, and create a cleaner world, one refill at a time.

Natural Ways to Repel Bugs In and Out of Your Home This Summer 🐜🍋🌞 Summer is for BBQs, sun-soaked holidays, and open windows, not sharing your space with buzzing, biting, uninvited guests. Keep on reading to find a discount for your first order! 👀 🕷️ 1. Say Goodbye to Spiders with White Vinegar Our Eco-Friendly White Vinegar isn’t just a cupboard staple; it’s a spider’s worst nightmare. Why it works: Spiders hate the smell of vinegar, especially when it’s laced with our natural essential oils. It messes with their scent trails, and that’s enough to keep them far away. How to use it: Mix 1 part vinegar with 1 part water in a spray bottle. Spray around window sills, door frames, skirting boards, and any cracks or corners where spiders love to hang out. Reapply once a week during peak spider season (aka now). 🌿 Bonus: Our Sorrento Lemon White Vinegar leaves your home smelling fresh and your surfaces gleaming. Win-win. 🍋 2. Banish Fruit Flies from Your Kitchen with Rhubarb & Lemon Ah, fruit flies, the gatecrashers of every summer fruit bowl. But fear not! Our zesty Rhubarb & Lemon Washing Up Liquid is more powerful than you think. Why it works: The citrus scent of natural lemon essential oil masks the sweet scent of ripening fruit that attracts fruit flies in the first place.Tips to keep your kitchen fly-free: Rinse bottles, jars, and cans before recycling. Regularly clean your sink and drains with hot soapy water and a splash of white vinegar. Keep your compost bin tightly sealed and rinse it out with our lemony washing up liquid regularly. Wipe down countertops daily with a warm, soapy cloth to eliminate any residue that fruit flies might be drawn to. 🍓 Useful Tip: Pop a lemon wedge by your fruit bowl, fruit flies can’t stand citrus! 🍊 3. Trap Flies the Natural Way with Blood Orange If you’ve got a few flies buzzing about and want a non-toxic way to catch them, we’ve got a cruelty-free trap you can make using our Miniml Blood Orange Multi-Surface Spray. What you need: A shallow bowl A dash of blood orange spray A few drops of washing-up liquid A splash of vinegar Why it works: The citrus and vinegar attract the flies, while the washing up liquid breaks the surface tension, so when they land, they can’t escape. 🧡 Not only does this smell amazing (thanks to those 100% natural essential oils), it’s totally safe around pets and kids. 💚 All Miniml products are:🧪 Made with 100% natural essential oils🐰 Cruelty-free and vegan🇬🇧 Made right here in the UK♻️ Available in refillable and reusable options So you're not just protecting your home from pests, you’re protecting the planet, too. 🏕️ Meet Your Outdoor Bug Bodyguard: incognito® Insect Repellents If you’re heading outdoors this summer, we discovered a premium brand that matches our ethos and values, and we’re confident you’ll love it too! From Yorkshire to Your Home: Celebrating World Refill Day with Miniml

From Yorkshire to Your Home: Celebrating World Refill Day with Miniml

From Yorkshire to Your Home: Celebrating World Refill Day with Miniml 🎉♻️ Today’s the day! It’s World Refill Day, and we’re buzzing with excitement to celebrate YOU, the incredible community powering the UK’s refill revolution. Because this isn’t just  about bottles; it’s about rethinking the way we clean, care, and live on this beautiful planet. 🌍 Back in 2020, Miniml was nothing more than a big idea in a tiny corner of the Yorkshire Dales. Emma & Scott started Miniml from their garage, dreaming of a world where eco-friendly didn’t mean boring beige labels and lifeless scents. We wanted to reimagine cleaning with a different kind of sparkle:💧 non-toxic ingredients,♻️ refillable bottles,🌱 formulas gentle on skin, home, and the planet...✨ and they smell absolutely incredible, too. Fast Forward to Today… Miniml is now part of a nationwide refill movement, stocked in over 2,000 refill and health stores across the UK. But it didn’t happen overnight. Miniml began to grow thanks to the support of passionate independent refill shops, who shared our belief that cleaning should be kind to people and the planet. Their support helped us scale rapidly, reaching more homes, high streets, and businesses than we ever imagined. Today, Miniml is proud to be one of the leading zero-waste brands in the UK, available:🛒 directly through our website,📦 via online retailers,🏪 and most importantly through our highly valued network of independent stockists. And here’s something we’re especially proud of: we’re the only brand in the UK that accepts 5L jerry can refills back, so they can be professionally cleaned, refilled, and reused again and again. No waste. No fuss. Just a smart, circular system that truly works. Thanks to this closed-loop refill system, we’re saving over 17.5 tonnes of plastic every year, which is more than 1 million bottles staying out of landfill and staying in use. 🙌   How Our Closed-Loop Refill System Works ♻️ Here’s how you can get involved and keep the loop going: ✅ Return your empties. Whether it’s a 1L refill pouch or a 5L jerry can, you can send your empty packaging back to us for free.🎥 Just head to our closed loop system page to watch our step-by-step video on how to return your refills. It’s super simple.📍Want to refill locally? You can find your nearest Miniml stockist here. Once your empties reach our warehouse, they’re put through our in-house cleaning tanks, specially designed to get your pouches and jerry cans sparkling clean and ready to be refilled and reused. Every time you refill a bottle or return a pouch or jerry can, you’re helping reduce waste, conserve resources, and keep packaging in use for as long as possible. That’s the power of circular thinking. 💡 Refill with our stockists. Refill at home.   Meet the Heroes Behind the Refills To celebrate World Refill Day, we’re spotlighting a few of the amazing refill shops who are helping lead the charge across the UK: 🧼 Shop Zero Nottingham – Flying the refill flag in the heart of Nottingham with planet-friendly vibes and serious local love.🌾 The Kind Table (Rye) – Serving up sustainable living with charm and community spirit.🌱 Let’s Get Naked (Launceston) – A cheeky name, a serious mission: helping Cornwall ditch single-use plastic for good.🕊️ Watson and Wilde (Lymm) – Where good design meets great sustainability, your go-to for eco-living in Cheshire.🚜 Willow Grange Farm (Chittering, Cambridge) – A picturesque farm shop with an eco twist—Miniml refills, fresh air, and good vibes all around.🌍 My Carbon Coach (Taunton) – Helping locals cut their carbon and embrace the refill lifestyle with confidence.   The Refill Future Is Bright (and Smells Amazing) Whether you're topping up your favourite bottle at a local shop or returning a pouch or jerry can directly to us to be cleaned and reused, every refill counts. You're part of a movement creating real, measurable impact. You’re choosing better for your home, for the planet, and for future generations. So this World Refill Day, take a moment to celebrate the small actions that make a massive difference. Because when you refill, you’re doing more than cleaning you’re creating change. 🫧 Refill it. Reuse it. Join the revolution.

Save Time on Cleaning This Summer: Easy Tips For A Hassle-Free BBQ Season

Save Time on Cleaning This Summer: Easy Tips For A Hassle-Free BBQ Season

Summer’s a season for slowing down—but no one tells that to the laundry pile, the sticky kitchen floors, or the BBQ that hasn’t been cleaned since last year. Luckily, you don’t need a cupboard full of products (or a whole day) to get your space back on track. With a few smart tricks and natural cleaning habits, you can stay ahead of the mess—without harsh chemicals, single-use plastic, or that dreaded mid-clean meltdown. Here are our favourite summer cleaning hacks to keep your home feeling fresh, not frantic. ☀️ 1. Tidy as You Go (It’ll Save You Later) Summer mess is sneaky—wet feet on floors, juice spills that dry into sugar glue, and crumbs from every sandwich ever made. Tip: Keep a reusable cloth and surface spray within arm’s reach in the kitchen or living space. The “tidy as you go” rule works best when you can actually... go. A quick wipe after lunch saves 20 minutes of scrubbing tomorrow. ✨ Try: Our Pink Grapefruit Anti-Bac Surface Cleaner. It smells amazing and lifts mess in seconds. 🧊 2. Sort Out the Fridge Before It Sorts You Out Hot weather + leftovers = fridge smells you’ll never quite forget. Tip: Give your fridge a five-minute reset each week. Toss anything suspicious (we see you, half-lemon), wipe down shelves with a damp cloth and a gentle cleaner, and pop an open tub of baking soda or coffee beans in the back to absorb odours naturally. ✨ Use our White Vinegar to remove stubborn smells and enjoy a fresh, natural clean instead of a chemical fog. 🧺 3. Tame the Laundry Before It Multiplies Beach towels, sweaty clothes, picnic blankets… summer laundry doesn’t ask for permission. It just arrives. Tip: Keep a separate basket just for “outside stuff” so it doesn’t pile up with your usual washing. Wash on a cool setting to protect fibres (and save energy), and hang dry whenever the sun’s out. This year, the UK weather has been spoiling us with sunshine, so it's easier than ever to keep your laundry clean and dry quickly!  ✨ Try: Our Pink Dragonfruit & Orchid Non-Bio Laundry Liquid—tough on odours, gentle on skin. 🪟 4. Let the Sunshine In (Without the Smears) Bright summer light is great… until it shows you every single smudge, dust, and pollen on your windows. Tip: Clean windows in the early morning or late evening—sunlight can dry your spray too fast, leaving streaks. Use a lint-free cloth or a microfibre towel and wipe in long, confident strokes (like you mean it). ✨ Our Mint Window & Glass Cleaner gives you that crisp, clear view—without ammonia or weird fumes.   🍳 5. Clean the Oven Before You Avoid It for 3 More Months There’s no “good” time to clean the oven and outdoor grill, but summer’s definitely the worst—especially during a heatwave. So do it now, before grilling season is in full swing. Tip: Spray on your oven cleaner and let it sit while you do literally anything else (scroll, snack, sip a lemonade). Come back 10–15 minutes later and wipe. It’s all about patience, not elbow grease. ✨ Our Clementine Oven & Hob Cleaner smells like citrus heaven and breaks down burnt-on mess in one go. ♻️ 6. Create a Refill Station and Thank Yourself Later Running out of cleaning spray mid-scrub? Painful. Trying to remember which cupboard the refill is in? Worse. Tip: Set up a little refill corner with your go-to products—laundry, washing-up, surface spray—and your empties. It keeps your routine smooth, your supplies topped up, and your plastic waste to a minimum. ✨ Grab a few 5L Miniml refills and you’re good for the season. Plus, save costs-long term! Less faff, more freshness. 🌼 Clean Just Enough You don’t need to blitz the whole house to feel on top of things. A few small habits, some non-toxic essentials, and the occasional “good enough” attitude will carry you through the season. Enjoy your Summer!

The British Spring Clean 2025: A Healthier Home, A Fresher Start

The British Spring Clean 2025: A Healthier Home, A Fresher Start

Spring is the season of renewal—a time to refresh our spaces, reset our routines, and breathe new life into our homes. But what if your cleaning routine is doing more harm than good? Many traditional cleaning products promise freshness but come with a hidden cost—toxic residues, synthetic fragrances, and harsh chemicals that linger long after you’re done scrubbing. Instead of creating a healthier, cleaner environment, they pollute your indoor air, disrupt your skin’s natural balance, and eliminate the good bacteria your home actually needs. This year, let’s spring clean the right way—with powerful, plant-based formulas that deliver a deep, effective clean without exposing your home, your family, or your pets to harmful chemicals. Here’s how to refresh your home with Miniml’s new natural cleaning range—designed to cut through grease, grime, and bacteria while protecting your health and the planet. 1. The Kitchen: Ditch the Grease, Keep the Freshness Oven cleaning is usually the dreaded task of spring cleaning—tough, greasy messes, baked-on grime, and the dreaded chemical cloud from industrial-strength degreasers. Traditional oven cleaners contain caustic ingredients that release toxic fumes, requiring gloves, masks, and open windows just to get the job done. 🍊 The Natural Swap: Non-Toxic Oven & Hob Cleaner – Clementine Melts away grease and burnt-on residue—no heavy scrubbing needed Infused with zesty clementine for a naturally fresh, uplifting scent No caustic chemicals, just plant-powered degreasing which are safe for food preparation areas! 💡 Spring Clean Tip:For a hassle-free clean, spray and leave for 10 minutes—let the natural surfactants break down grease before wiping it away effortlessly. 2. Windows & Glass: Clear Views, Cleaner Air Spring is all about letting in natural light, but if your glass cleaner is loaded with ammonia and synthetic perfumes, it could be doing more than removing streaks—it could be compromising your indoor air quality. Many conventional glass cleaners contribute to respiratory irritation and VOC buildup, making your home’s air stale rather than fresh. 🍃 The Natural Swap: Ammonia-Free Window & Glass Cleaner – Mint Streak-free shine, no ammonia or artificial fragrances Cooling mint scent that refreshes as you clean Plant-powered, safe for homes with children and pets 💡 Spring Clean Tip:Clean windows on a cloudy day—direct sunlight causes glass cleaner to evaporate too quickly, leaving behind streaks. 3. The Bathroom: Deep Clean Without Skin Irritation Bathrooms need serious cleaning power, but many bathroom sprays contain harsh disinfectants and synthetic surfactants that strip surfaces and can trigger skin irritation or allergies. If you find yourself sneezing, itching, or dealing with dry hands after cleaning, it might be time to rethink what’s in your spray bottle. 🚿 The Natural Swap: Bleach-Free Anti-Bac Bathroom Cleaner – Cucumber & Mint Kills 99.9% of bacteria & limescale—without harsh irritants Refreshing cucumber & mint scent that makes cleaning feel light and fresh Gentle on skin, powerful on soap scum and buildup 💡 Spring Clean Tip:Swap single-use sponges (which harbour bacteria) for a washable cleaning cloth—better for you, better for the planet. 4. Surfaces: Reduce Hidden Chemical Exposure Surfaces in your home—kitchen counters, tables, doorknobs—come into contact with everything. Many antibacterial sprays contain quats (quaternary ammonium compounds), which have been linked to respiratory issues and gut microbiome imbalances when overused. 🍊 The Natural Swap: Natural Anti-Bac Surface Cleaner – Pink Grapefruit Kills 99.9% of bacteria naturally, without quats or bleach Energising pink grapefruit scent—fresh, not fake Safe for high-touch areas, food prep zones, and little hands 💡 Spring Clean Tip:Use a damp microfiber cloth instead of disposable wipes—it’s just as effective and dramatically reduces plastic waste. Beyond Clean: Spring Cleaning Habits That Support Your Wellbeing ✔️ Wash Soft Furnishings – Dust, pet dander, and household chemicals can settle into fabrics, so wash curtains, rugs, and cushion covers for a true refresh.✔️ Open the Windows – Ventilation is key to flushing out pollutants and bringing in oxygen rich fresh air.✔️ Ditch Synthetic Air Fresheners – Many commercial air sprays contain phthalates and endocrine disruptors—instead, opt for natural cleaning products with essential oils.✔️ Invest in a HEPA Vacuum – If you have pets or allergies, a HEPA-filter vacuum removes airborne dust and microscopic allergens.✔️ Switch to Refillable Cleaning Products – Reduce plastic waste by using refillable, zero-waste bottles instead of constantly buying new ones. Spring Cleaning, The Right Way The British Spring Clean isn’t just about tidying up—it’s about creating a home that supports your health, not compromises it. By choosing plant-powered, non-toxic products, you’re reducing chemical exposure, improving indoor air quality, and making your home a safe, refreshing space to live. 💚 This year, refresh your home the healthy way. Miniml Celebrating Women-Owned Stockists on International Women’s Day

Miniml Celebrating Women-Owned Stockists on International Women’s Day

At Miniml, we believe in the power of women-led businesses to drive meaningful change in the refill and sustainability movement. Co-founded by Emma, Miniml is proud to work alongside incredible women who make refill shopping more accessible in communities across the UK and beyond. On International Women’s Day, we’re shining a light on the inspiring women behind refill stores that stock Miniml and champion a cleaner, greener future. One of those businesses is Refill Mill in Essex, where Miniml has become their most popular product range. “Miniml is our most popular range at Refill Mill! Customers love the products as they are highly effective with divine natural fragrances, proving that sustainability can be both accessible and powerful!” says the founder at Refill Mill. Their commitment to making sustainable living easy and enjoyable aligns perfectly with our mission at Miniml.   Another fantastic woman-led business making waves in the refill world is REco Store in Tiptree, Essex. Founded six years ago, this shop operates out of a reused, solar-powered shipping container and has already refilled over 100,000 plastic bottles—an impact that’s hard to even quantify when it comes to food refills! “I chose to stock Miniml Refills because, firstly, I can send back the empty drums for refilling (zero plastic waste) and in doing this, I am supporting another UK business. Secondly, their products are green and clean, and customers love them,” says the founder of REco Store. Her dedication to sustainability and the local community proves the small changes that add up to a big impact. We also want to celebrate Sero, the only refill shop in Aberystwyth, West Wales, founded and run single-handedly by Tori. Starting the business with her own savings, she has built something truly special, offering a wide range of refills—from cleaning and body care to food and eco-friendly products. On top of that, she runs not-for-profit recycling schemes, including Blister Pack recycling for medicine packets, with hopes to expand even further. With the help of her friends and two mums, Tori has created a thriving space for sustainability in her local community. Another incredible women-led business making waves in the refill world is Arborfill, a Berkshire-based refill delivery service founded by the passionate and dedicated Carly. Arborfill helps to create healthier living and working environments by tackling the issue of single-use plastics head-on. With refillable, non-toxic products at the heart of the business, Carly also works to connect her community with local products, such as eggs from nearby farms, raw honey from local beekeepers, and Berkshire-roasted coffee beans. "Since starting my business three years ago, I've found that people are becoming more and more keen to support ethical, independent businesses that are good for them and the planet. I’m very happy to be able to facilitate this," Carly shares. Lastly, we'd love to give a shout-out to Sage, a zero-waste shop incorporated into a health food store in Surbiton. Founded by a local resident passionate about giving back to her community, Sage offers plastic-free solutions and high-quality, ethically sourced products that are good for both the planet and people. "If we really want to be part of the change for a better world, we need to make it as easy as possible for people to shop without single-use plastic," she shares. These are just a few of the incredible women who are our stockists and the brilliant women-led refill stores making a difference. Their passion, dedication, and hard work are shaping a more sustainable future, proving that small businesses can make a big impact. Here's to celebrating them today and every day!

At Miniml, we love celebrating our incredible refill partners who are making a real difference in their communities. One standout is The Greenhouse in Ripon—a zero-waste refill shop that has been leading the charge for sustainability since Spring 2022. With their closed-loop ethos and commitment to eco-friendly living, The Greenhouse has become a hub for locals looking to make greener choices. Here’s how they’re transforming their community, one refill at a time—and why we’re proud to call them a Miniml partner. 1. The Greenhouse: A Refill Shop with a Mission Nestled in the historic city of Ripon, The Greenhouse is more than a shop—it’s a movement. Born during the Covid lockdown, the shop’s founder was inspired to change their family’s wasteful habits and embrace a simpler, greener lifestyle. “I stopped commuting from Yorkshire to London and decided to create something meaningful within my community,” they explain. The result? A beautiful space combining refill stations, houseplants, and sustainable gifts, all designed to make eco-friendly living more accessible.   2. Refilling and Reducing Waste in Ripon At the heart of The Greenhouse is a mission to make sustainable choices simple and effective. Every product on their shelves is handpicked to ensure it’s free from greenwashing, effective, and genuinely eco-friendly. Thanks to their refill system, The Greenhouse has already refilled over 5,365 containers, preventing thousands of single-use plastic bottles from reaching landfills. Beyond refills, they also stock sustainable alternatives to everyday items like cling film, sponges, and other single-use products—helping the people of Ripon embrace greener habits.   3. A Thriving Community Hub The Greenhouse isn’t just a place to shop—it’s a space to connect, collaborate, and grow. In 2023, their contributions to the community were recognised with a St Wilfrid’s Star award, which celebrates businesses making a positive impact in Ripon. “Ripon is a historic city, but it’s also full of exciting indie businesses,” says the founder. “At The Greenhouse, we’ve built a reputation for supporting local initiatives and creating a real sense of community.” From working with other local businesses to inspiring residents to adopt sustainable practices, The Greenhouse has become a cornerstone of Ripon’s independent scene. 4. Why The Greenhouse Chooses Miniml From the very start, Miniml has been a natural fit for The Greenhouse’s refill offering. “As a Yorkshire-based shop, it’s great to partner with a local manufacturer,” the founder shares. “I tried Miniml’s products at home first and was so impressed. The feedback from our customers has been amazing, especially on the laundry liquid, toilet cleaner, and hair products!” Miniml’s closed-loop system is a perfect match for The Greenhouse’s eco ethos. With a convenient weekly collection route and the ability to return empty containers for cleaning and reuse, our partnership is helping reduce waste on a larger scale—one refill at a time.   5. Celebrating Sustainability, One Refill at a Time For The Greenhouse’s founder, the biggest joy comes from watching customers embrace sustainable living. “Helping someone take their first step towards going green and seeing them return to try more products is incredibly rewarding,” they say. “It’s also amazing to learn from our regulars—many of whom share their own green tips and ideas!” 6. A Shared Vision for a Greener Future At Miniml, we’re inspired by partners like The Greenhouse, who show that small businesses can make a big impact. By offering refill solutions, supporting their local community, and fostering collaboration, The Greenhouse is a shining example of how sustainability and community go hand in hand. Whether it’s refilling laundry liquid, switching to plastic-free alternatives, or simply encouraging others to think green, The Greenhouse is proof that every refill counts in creating a brighter, more sustainable future.   Looking for a refill shop near you? 2025 Ins & Outs for a Clean & Sustainable Home

2025 Ins & Outs for a Clean & Sustainable Home

As we step into 2025, sustainability continues to lead the way in how we live, shop, and even clean our homes. The focus this year is all about doing more with less—less waste, fewer harmful chemicals, and a lighter impact on the planet. But don’t worry—keeping your home clean sustainably doesn’t mean compromising on results or convenience. With the right approach and products, it’s easier than ever to maintain a spotless home while staying eco-friendly. Here’s what’s in (and what’s out) for 2025 when it comes to cleaning sustainably. What’s In: Refillable Cleaning Products What’s Out: Single-Use Plastics   Wave goodbye to endless plastic bottles piling up in your recycling bin. Refillable cleaning products are officially the norm, and brands like Miniml are leading the charge. For example, our Multi-Surface Cleaner not only tackles grease and grime but also comes in refillable packaging. With our 1L and 5L refill options and free returns to get your packaging cleaned and reused again, you’ve got a cleaning solution that works for both your home and the environment. Refilling isn’t just good for the planet—it’s good for your bank balance too. You’ll save money by reusing containers and purchasing refills in bulk.  What’s In: Plant-Based Cleaning Solutions What’s Out: Harsh Chemicals   This year, it’s all about swapping out toxic chemicals for plant-based, biodegradable alternatives. Cleaning products made with natural ingredients are gentler on your skin, safer for your family, and better for the environment. Miniml’s Wild Rhubarb Washing-Up Liquid is a perfect example. It’s tough on grease but made with eco-friendly ingredients that won’t harm waterways. Plus, it smells amazing— made with 100% natural essential oils it's like a little burst of summer every time you do the washing-up. What’s In: Laundry That Loves the Planet What’s Out: Microplastic Pollution   Your laundry routine might seem harmless, but traditional detergents and synthetic fabrics can contribute to microplastic pollution. In 2025, more households are switching to sustainable laundry options. This Pink Dragonfruit & Orchid Laundry Liquid is a standout choice. It’s made with biodegradable ingredients, packaged in refillable containers, and smells absolutely divine. Pair it with a Guppyfriend Washing Bag to reduce microplastic shedding from synthetic clothes. What’s In: Minimalist Cleaning Supplies What’s Out: Overloaded Cupboards   Gone are the days of cluttered cleaning cupboards filled with a different product for every surface. In 2025, the trend is towards multipurpose cleaning solutions and a “less is more” mentality. Miniml’s Multi-Surface Cleaner and White Vinegar Cleaner are all you need for a sparkling home. Add a set of reusable cloths, and you’re good to go—no need for wasteful kitchen roll or an overstock of sprays. What’s In: Local and Ethical Brands What’s Out: Mass-Produced, Carbon-Heavy Products   Supporting local, ethical brands that prioritise sustainability is a big trend this year. Miniml, for instance, is a UK-based company dedicated to creating zero-waste products that are kind to the planet. Furthermore, our sustainable manufacturing practices include 100% biodegradable formulations, natural fragrances, and our production powered completely by solar power!  By choosing local brands, you’re not just reducing the carbon footprint of your purchases—you’re supporting businesses that share your values. What’s In: Closing the Loop What’s Out: Wasteful Consumption   The circular economy is gaining momentum, and it’s not just about recycling—it’s about rethinking the entire lifecycle of a product. Miniml’s closed-loop refill system makes it easy to return your empty containers to be cleaned, refilled, and reused, ensuring nothing goes to waste. Sustainability Made Simple Keeping your home clean sustainably in 2025 is all about making small, intentional changes that add up to a big difference. By choosing refillable, plant-based, and locally made products, you’re not just cleaning your home—you’re helping to clean up the planet too. Ready to make the switch? 2024 Wrap-Up with Miniml: How Did We Save 302 Tonnes of Plastic?

2024 Wrap-Up with Miniml: How Did We Save 302 Tonnes of Plastic?

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year full of achievements and progress at Miniml. From saving over millions of plastic bottles from landfill to expanding our production and launching exciting new products, it’s been a year to remember. Your support has been at the heart of everything we’ve achieved. Let’s dive into the key milestones that defined 2024—and how we’re setting the stage for an even bigger 2025. The Closed Loop Impact: 302 Tonnes of Plastic Saved   Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, and this year, we’ve collectively saved 302 tonnes of plastic—equivalent to more than 8 million single-use plastic bottles—from ending up in landfills. We started small, providing bulk refills of our products to local UK refill stores. Independent shops have been vital to local neighbourhoods and towns where eco-conscious people can find sustainable products and reuse existing packaging, eliminating any waste from the supply chain. Our mission to making Miniml a leading zero-waste brand brought us to rapid growth in the past few years, with our refillable products and Closed Loop system now being available to everyone in the UK. Thanks to growing accessibility of our products, we have managed to save a record amount of single-use plastic in one year! You can now find our products in your local refill stores, online, as well as our first big supermarket launch - Morrisons! Every refill, every sustainable choice, and every shout-out has contributed to this incredible achievement. By choosing Miniml, you’re not just reducing waste; you’re actively creating a cleaner, greener future. Expanding Our Horizons   In October, we made a bold move—literally. We upgraded to a state-of-the-art 32,000sqft warehouse, which has allowed us to scale our production capacity by five times! This new facility is a game-changer, enabling us to meet growing demand and expand our markets while staying true to our eco-friendly values. It’s not just about growth; it’s about creating a foundation to deliver more sustainable solutions in 2025 and beyond. New Laundry Scent: Pink Dragonfruit & Orchid   We love bringing fresh, innovative products to our Miniml community, and this year we introduced a brand-new scent in our laundry care range: Pink Dragonfruit & Orchid. This vibrant, floral fragrance has quickly become a favourite, turning laundry day into a more enjoyable experience. If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s the perfect time to add it to your eco-friendly routine. Miniml Hits the Shelves: Aldi and Morrison’s Partnerships One of the most exciting highlights of 2024 was bringing Miniml to more people through retail partnerships. In October, we had a one-week pilot launch in Aldi, followed by a three-week rollout in Morrison’s in December!   These collaborations are key to making sustainable, refillable products more accessible to households across the UK, whilst our refills still being available online and with independent refill shops nationwide. Watch this space—we’re just getting started! Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Miniml in 2025 2024 has been a year of growth, impact, and innovation, but we’re not stopping here. As we move into 2025, we’re focused on expanding our reach, introducing more sustainable products, and continuing to inspire positive change. None of this would have been possible without our incredible community—you. Your support, feedback, and shared commitment to sustainability drive everything we do. Want to stay in the loop? Easy Fabric Care for Winter

Easy Fabric Care for Winter

As autumn settles in, wardrobes shift to cosy woollens, luxurious silks, durable cottons, and trusty outerwear. Each fabric has its quirks, and knowing how to care for them keeps clothes looking fresh and lasting longer. Miniml’s new Pink Dragonfruit + Orchid Laundry Care Range makes fabric care both effective and sustainable. Its gentle, non-bio formula is biodegradable, cold wash-friendly, and infused with a natural fragrance that lasts twice as long. With these tips, fabric care becomes an easy (and eco-friendly) part of the season. Wool: Keep It Cosy Woollen jumpers, scarves, and blankets are autumn staples, but improper washing can lead to shrinkage or loss of shape. How to wash: Hand-wash in lukewarm water or machine-wash on a cold, gentle cycle using Miniml Non-Bio Laundry Liquid. Drying tip: Lay flat on a towel to dry and reshape while damp to prevent stretching. Pro tip: Skip the fabric softener—it can coat wool fibres and reduce their insulating properties. Silk: Treat It with Care   Silk’s delicate fibres require a gentle touch to maintain their signature sheen. How to wash: Hand-wash in cool water or machine-wash on a delicate cycle with a mesh laundry bag. Drying tip: Avoid wringing; instead, air dry in the shade to prevent fading. Fresh finish: Use Miniml’s Pink Dragonfruit + Orchid formula for a subtle, long-lasting scent that doesn’t overpower silk’s natural elegance. Cotton: Everyday Essential Cotton is a hardworking fabric, but proper care keeps it soft and vibrant for longer. How to wash: Stick to a cool or cold cycle with Miniml’s gentle detergent to avoid weakening fibres. Separating tip: Always separate whites, colours, and darks to prevent colour bleed. Drying tip: Air drying reduces wear and keeps cotton soft and durable. Outerwear: Ready for the Elements From waterproof jackets to wool coats, outerwear faces rain, mud, and daily wear in autumn. Regular cleaning and reproofing help keep them in top shape. How to clean: Machine-wash washable coats on a cold, gentle cycle with Miniml’s Non-Bio Laundry Liquid. For non-machine washable items, spot-clean stains with a damp cloth and a small amount of detergent. Drying tip: Air dry coats to avoid damaging water-resistant layers. Reproofing Outerwear:Reproofing restores the water-repellent coating on jackets, keeping them weather-ready. Choose a waterproofing spray designed for your jacket’s material. Wash the jacket first to remove dirt and oils. Once clean and slightly damp, spray the waterproofing treatment evenly across the fabric, focusing on seams and high-wear areas. Allow the jacket to air dry fully before use. Reproofing once or twice a year ensures coats stay functional through wet, windy weather. Why Miniml Is the Go-To Choice   Miniml’s Pink Dragonfruit + Orchid Laundry Range is a game-changer for sustainable fabric care: Gentle and effective: Safe for all fabrics, including wool, silk, and delicate garments. Eco-conscious: 100% biodegradable and made with plant-based ingredients. Cold wash friendly: Saves energy while being tough on dirt. Sustainable packaging: Refillable and part of a closed-loop system to reduce waste. Long-lasting scent: Natural fragrance that’s fresh but never overpowering. Autumn Fabric Care Made Easy With the right care and Miniml’s eco-friendly range, even the most delicate fabrics can survive—and thrive—this autumn. From wool jumpers to silk blouses and waterproof jackets, thoughtful washing and maintenance keep clothes looking great and lasting longer

What’s New at Miniml? Read: From Growing the Business to Saying 'I Do'

Miniml has had a busy few months, filled with exciting updates behind the scenes! You might have not seen many exciting new product launches yet, but running a sustainable family business takes a tonne of dedication, consideration, and planning. Whilst we DO have exciting things coming soon, here's what has happened so far! August - Celebrating Miniml Love <3  August marked a huge occasion here at Miniml, with our founders Emma & Scott tying the knot! The couple met at university and built Miniml from scratch, developing sustainable solutions for all household & personal care needs. They secured an initial investment in 2021, and spent the following few years growing the Miniml range, brand image, and reputation nationwide and abroad.  After 2 years of wedding planning whilst prioritising their business, the couple finally got married in August 2024! Surrounded by their family and friends, Emma and Scott said “I Do” on the beautiful island of Mallorca - a well-deserved dream come true!  September - Expanding Miniml Headquarters   After months of strategy and preparations we have finally moved into our brand new headquarters! This milestone is a significant step in Miniml growth and a defining factor of what’s coming… Miniml has upgraded from a 10’000sqft to 32’000sqft factory, allowing us to increase our production five-fold! Thnks to the success of our pioneering Closed Loop System, dedication of our team and support of our customers, we are now able to scale up our business by launching new product scents & ranges, as well as supply more customers than ever before!  Due to the complexity of our technologies, such as product blenders, filling lines, as well as our custom-made industrial washer, our production team had to build a working strategy on how to safely move to our new premises. Luckily, our new warehouse remains in Yorkshire! Our new headquarters have much more space for production, storage, AND for our team to work and rest, so we’re thrilled to begin the new chapter. What’s Coming? Having settled in to our new space, Miniml is now on the way to launch new product scents and prepare for the busy end-of-the-year season.
