Miniml Blog
A month of giving back to our community
This September, we put the spotlight on the people around Miniml. Turns out, the best ideas really do start with a good conversation. From giving back locally to sharing new ideas with our customers and partners, September gave us more opportunities to listen to the people who have helped shape Miniml into what it is today. 1. Supporting our local community Yorkshire has been our home since 2020, so giving back close to home felt like the right place to start. We donated a selection of Miniml products to The Hive in Silsden, a local charity supporting people and families across the area. The products will help provide personal care essentials for those who need extra support, helping make everyday essentials a little more accessible. 2. Miniml’s first community event Our first-ever community event brought 30 customers together in Manchester to help us shape our next laundry scent. They were among the first to smell the three fragrances in the running for our January 2027 launch, choose their favourite and have their say on what should come next. The scent theme carried through the day with a marbled clay hand-building workshop, where everyone created their own candle holder to pair with their chosen candle fragrance from our scent selection. Miniml founder Emma was part of the day from start to finish, giving customers the chance to chat with her directly about the business, the products and the story behind Miniml. Missed our event? Vote for your favourite scent in our last blog and you could win the full new laundry range when the winning fragrance launches. 3. Opening our doors at HQ For the first time, we opened Miniml HQ to the independent stockists and refill partners who have been part of our journey from the very beginning. They came to meet the team behind the brand, see where everything happens and put faces to the names they’ve been working with for years. It was a really exciting opportunity to meet the people who helped us from the beginning of our Miniml journey and get to know a little more about what their community love about Miniml and what they'd like to see next. Your voice helps shape Miniml September reminded us why these conversations matter. The best version of Miniml isn’t built in a meeting room, it is shaped by the people using the products every day. Hearing what you love, what you need and what you’d change helps shape not only the products we make, but the Miniml we’re building beyond the bottle. Thank you to everyone who was part of it!

Learn morePlastic Free July 2026: Small swaps, real change - starting in your home
Plastic Free July is here and if you're wondering where to start, you're in the right place. Going plastic free doesn't mean overhauling your home. The biggest opportunity is already in your cleaning cupboard. Small swaps of everyday products are one of the most impactful things you can do this July. Here's why and how to make it feel effortless. The UK's Plastic Problem Is Bigger Than You Think UK households throw away around 100 billion pieces of plastic packaging every year. That's not a global figure, that's right here, in the UK. Despite our best recycling efforts, only 12% of all plastic ever produced in the UK actually gets recycled. The rest is incinerated, sent to landfill, or exported abroad. The recycling bin is a good habit, but it isn't the solution. Using less single-use plastic in the first place is where real change happens. Cleaning and laundry products are a significant part of that picture. The average UK household gets through up to 70 single-use plastic bottles a year, including basic products like washing-up liquid, laundry detergent, surface sprays, hand soap, shampoo and body wash. Most of those bottles are replaced without a second thought, week after week. That's 70 chances to do something different. Refilling made easy Switching to refills is one of the easiest sustainable swaps you can make. At Miniml, we make concentrated cleaning and laundry products in 1-litre and 5-litre refills, filled right here in the Yorkshire Dales. The idea is simple: top up the bottles you already own, and carry on. No new packaging to buy, no lifestyle change required, just the same great clean with far less plastic. Each Miniml 5L refill replaces between 5-12 household bottles. Five fewer bottles produced, delivered and disposed of for exactly the same result at the sink or in the laundry room. However, what often surprises people is the cost saving! Switching to refills costs up to 53% less than buying single-use bottles like-for-like. With household budgets under real pressure, that's a meaningful saving across a year of essentials. Small swaps, real change Here's something worth celebrating: over one million UK households already choose Miniml refills. Together, we produced one million 5L refills in 2025 alone, replacing roughly 5 million single-use bottles and preventing around 200 tonnes of plastic from ever being made. Since Miniml launched, the total stands at over 517 tonnes of plastic saved. When empty containers come back to us, we clean them and put them back into circulation through our closed-loop system, so even the refill packaging itself gets a second, third and fourth life rather than ending up as waste. That impact isn't the result of one big corporate initiative. It's the impact of over a million households, just like yours, making the same small swap in their kitchen or bathroom. You’re part of something bigger One of the things we love about Plastic Free July is the sense of community it brings. Across the UK, over 830 local communities are now part of the Plastic Free Communities network, with nearly 30 million people living in a participating area. Refill shops are growing on high streets from Bristol to Edinburgh. Neighbours are sharing recommendations. The refill movement is becoming part of everyday UK life and we're proud to have been part of that story from the very beginning, supplying independent refill shops long before we were available online. Where to start this July If you're new to refills, the best place to start is with the products you use most often: Laundry liquid - most UK households buy 6–10 bottles a year. One Miniml 5L refill covers the equivalent of five. Washing-up liquid - used almost every day, and one of the easiest switches in our range. Once you've made the first few swaps - surface cleaners, hand soap, and body wash are a natural next step. Every product you switch is one fewer bottle that needs to be made, filled, shipped and thrown away. You don't have to do everything at once. You just have to start, and July is the perfect time.
Learn moreThe secret to making your clothes last: Tips from Rachel Radcliffe
While fashion trends come and go, taking proper care of your clothes never goes out of style. Looking after your wardrobe not only helps your favourite pieces last longer but can also reduce waste and encourage more mindful shopping habits. To celebrate the launch of our new Miniml Scent Boosters, we caught up with fashion content creator Rachel Radcliffe to talk about clothing care, laundry habits and why fragrance plays a bigger role in fashion than you might think. Why Taking Care of Your Clothes Matters The most sustainable item in your wardrobe is the one you already own. Extending the lifespan of your clothes by just a few extra years can help reduce textile waste, save money and lessen the environmental impact of constantly replacing worn-out garments. According to Rachel, caring for clothes starts with something surprisingly simple: "As I work in fashion, I always pay close attention to the care labels. In the past I have made some real faux pas washing things incorrectly and ruining them, which is the most heartbreaking thing." It's a lesson many of us learn the hard way. Whether it's a wool jumper accidentally shrunk in a hot wash or delicate fabrics damaged by incorrect settings, taking a few moments to check the care instructions can make all the difference. Laundry Tips to Help Clothes Last Longer If you're wondering how to make clothes last longer, Rachel's approach is refreshingly straightforward. Wash on Lower Temperatures Washing clothes at lower temperatures is gentler on fabrics and colours, helping to reduce fading and wear over time. Don't Overwash Many garments can be aired out, spot-cleaned or worn multiple times before washing. This reduces stress on fabrics and helps maintain their original look and feel. Choose Gentle Laundry Products The products you use matter too. Miniml's laundry range is designed to effectively clean clothes while being kinder to fabrics, making it easier to care for the pieces you love wearing most. Pairing a quality laundry detergent with a fragrance booster can help clothes feel fresher for longer between washes. Why Fragrance Is Part of Personal Style Fashion isn't just visual. It's how you feel when you get dressed. For Rachel, fragrance is an extension of personal style. "I love matching a fragrance to my outfit," she explains. "I have a lot of clothes and try to create a different vibe every day, so it only makes sense that I do the same with my fragrances." It's an idea many people can relate to. The scent of freshly washed clothes can influence confidence, comfort and even mood throughout the day. Rachel also highlights something we often overlook: the emotional connection fragrance creates. "Fragrance is really immersive and I love that it can create nostalgia and remind you of certain times and places in life." How to Keep Clothes Smelling Fresh for Longer One of the most common laundry goals is simple: keeping clothes smelling fresh long after wash day. For Rachel, the perfect laundry fragrance should feel clean, crisp and effortless. "I really love for my laundry to smell crisp and super clean. I love it when you've just washed something and the scent wafts over you throughout the day. It just makes me feel like I've really got my life together!" That's exactly why we developed our new Miniml Scent Boosters. Designed to work alongside our laundry range, they deliver up to 10x more fragrance than the rest of the Miniml laundry collection, helping your favourite clothes, bedding and towels stay beautifully scented for longer. Rachel's Favourite Miniml Scent Booster When asked which scent booster she'd choose, Rachel admitted she had a change of heart. "Initially, I loved the Refreshing Linen scent, but I tried the Calming Jasmine & Vanilla Scent Booster yesterday and I think that may have taken the top spot." What won her over? "It's still really refreshing, but the vanilla and jasmine make it feel more boutique, like you've just lit a really nice candle. It's gorgeous." For anyone looking to bring a little luxury into their laundry routine, it's easy to see the appeal. Check out how Rachel resets her airport outfits with Miniml on her Instagram. Love Your Clothes for Longer Building a more sustainable wardrobe doesn't always mean buying less. Sometimes it simply means taking better care of the pieces you already own. By washing at lower temperatures, avoiding overwashing and choosing products that help clothes stay fresh between wears, you can keep your favourite pieces looking, feeling and smelling their best for longer.
Learn moreA spring reset inspired by nature.
Spring is a season of renewal, and post-winter fatigue is a real thing - low energy, lack of sunlight, and even your space at home feels..off. The light shifts. The days get longer. And suddenly you notice the clutter, the dullness, and the spaces that no longer feel like you. Miniml founder Emma shared her tips for an easy spring reset without 'overdoing' it. Spring is the signal to reset - not a full overhaul, just a few simple shifts that bring your home & your senses back to feeling calm, clean and considered. Step 1: Clear the noise Start small.Put away what’s been building up over winter. Clear surfaces. Open the windows. Let fresh air in. Let natural light do its thing. This is where a spring home reset really begins. Pro tip: Make use of sunny days by opening your blinds and curtains. Sunlight has natural antibacterial and disinfecting properties that will help you refresh your space effortlessly. Step 2: Reset your everyday spaces Focus on the places you use most. Kitchen sides. Bathroom surfaces. The small, high-touch areas that shape how your home feels day to day. Using natural, great-smelling products turns cleaning from a task into something more intentional. Our Refreshing Fig Leaf & Patchouli Anti-Bac Surface Spray is designed for exactly this. Cutting through daily build-up while leaving behind a clean, green scent that doesn’t overpower. Step 3: Change the scent, change the space Scent is one of the simplest ways to shift the mood of your home. For spring, Miniml founder Emma leans towards something fresh but grounding - clean green notes balanced with soft warmth. Our limited edition Refreshing Fig Leaf & Patchouli range brings that balance.Crisp fig leaf gives an instant feeling of freshness, while patchouli and soft woods create a calm, settled finish. It’s subtle, natural, and designed to sit quietly in the background of your home. Shop the full range. Step 4: Build small rituals into your day A spring reset isn’t just about your space - it’s about how you feel in it. Washing your hands. Cleaning up after cooking. Wiping down surfaces. These small, everyday moments add up. With the Refreshing Fig Leaf & Patchouli Hand Wash and Washing Up Liquid, those routines feel less like chores and more like part of your daily ritual. No overpowering smells or dry, itchy hands. And when you can, step outside. Even a short walk can shift your mindset as much as a freshly cleaned room. Reset your space, revive your mindset Whether you’re spring-cleaning every corner or simply swapping winter layers for something lighter, your home remains the place where you can pause, breathe in, and reset. Shake off the winter fatigue with rituals and products that care for you and your home.
Learn more‘Who runs the world?’ The invisible load of female business founders.
In 2020, Miniml began with one woman and one clear belief, that everyday products should work brilliantly while being kind to skin and better for our homes. The founder of Miniml, Emma, turned that belief into reality, building a brand rooted in purpose, not just opportunity. This International Women’s Day, we’re spotlighting four incredible female founders who have also built businesses with intention - brands that align closely with our values and our community. Our campaign is a reflection on the invisible weight so many women carry every single day - the responsibility, the resilience, the quiet determination behind what they create. Because while women are building businesses, leading teams, and driving innovation, they’re often doing it while carrying more than the world sees. The data proves it, too: Female-founded businesses receive just 2% of UK venture capital funding All-female teams accounted for only 8.2% of equity deals in 2023 Women still represent only around 20% of business owners in the UK(British Business Bank) Progress is happening, but the weight hasn’t disappeared. The load isn’t just professional, it’s personal, too. For many women, success sits alongside an invisible second shift: proving their competence, planning, caring, supporting, leading, adapting. It’s the pressure to be credible in rooms that are still catching up.The expectation to perform without showing strain. The emotional responsibility that rarely appears in job titles. This campaign isn’t about celebrating hustle. It’s about recognising resilience, and encouraging you to support businesses that care. Four founders. One shared impact. Dr Sioned Jones - Co-founder of BoobyBiome Dr Sioned Jones and her team are dedicating years of research to a problem millions of women face - brestfeeding, yet innovation in its support remains critically underfunded and under-researched. Driven by both, personal motivation and a clear gap in women’s health, she is building something that doesn’t yet exist - a solution designed to support parents in one of their most vulnerable moments. Behind the science is an invisible load: repeatedly justifying why this work matters, navigating the funding gap, and advocating for an area of healthcare long overlooked. For her, this matter is urgent. Baby milk is not just food, it's a microbiome that impacts health outcomes. Unfortunately, the science hasn't evolved with the products that are on the currently market today. “International women’s Day is about momentum and visibility. It’s about women really pushing boundaries in science, in business, and in society. And that really needs to be celebrated.” - Dr Sioned Jones Laura Hartnett - Founder of Seep Laura Hartnett founded Seep to help her own health concerns by reducing microplastics and toxic chemicals at home. What followed was the reality of trying to change an industry that isn’t built for change - where sustainable alternatives to daily cleaning accessories face higher costs, slower adoption, and constant commercial pressure. Building a brand in this space means balancing purpose with practicality, often making difficult decisions customers never see. Yet as consumer awareness shifts towards healthier homes and more conscious products, her definition of success has evolved too - from disruption for its own sake to creating trusted, thoughtful products that people genuinely feel good using in their homes. “As a founder you doubt yourself a little bit - always. But you’ve just got to have enough confidence that your idea is the right idea.” - Laura Hartnett Rachel Woolford - Founder of North Studios Before winning The Apprentice 2024, Rachel Woolford had already built North Studios into a respected boutique fitness brand. But stepping onto a national stage brought a new kind of load: public judgement. Being evaluated so visibly as a woman comes with layers. Scrutiny on tone. On ambition. On confidence. The pressure not to be “too much,” yet never to shrink. It raises the unspoken question many ambitious women face: do you soften yourself to be accepted, or harden yourself to be heard? Rachel speaks openly about that tension and her experience in ‘The Apprentice’ final, where she was disproportionately compared to her male rival. She also explains how ambitious women are often misunderstood or shamed for being dominant or assertive in a work place. Winning hasn’t just elevated her profile; it’s shifted how seriously people take her. And that dynamic says as much about perception as it does about success. Behind the scenes, confidence doesn’t always look loud. It looks like preparation. Resilience. Holding your ground when you’re being watched. “I’m very proud to be feminine. I can be a girly-girl. But also, in the work place I may come across masculine. It’s something I used to be a bit embarrassed about, but I know it works and that’s how I’ve grown my business. I’m not ashamed to be a bit more dominating - it doesn’t mean that I am masculine.” - Rachel Woolford Ros Heathcote - Founder of Borough Broth When Ros started making bone broth in her kitchen, it wasn't a trend. Most people still didn’t know what it was, let alone want to drink it. At early market stalls, she remembers people visibly grimacing at the word bone. Nevertheless, Ros believed in the product and kept going anyway. “I always told people it’s just a slow-cooked stock you can sip as well as cook with,” she explains. “I never really wanted to make it ‘cool’ - it’s just a proper kitchen staple.” Quickly, that belief started to pay off. Within weeks of producing her first commercial batch, Selfridges Food Hall discovered the brand on Instagram and offered to launch it. “It very rapidly went from a nice idea to something I thought had legs,” she says. As Borough Broth has grown into a nationally stocked brand, the real challenge has been scaling without compromise. “We’re proud to show people where we source from and how our products are made,” Ros says. “Scaling while retaining quality isn’t easy, but we’re proving it can be done.” For Ros, International Women’s Day is a moment to keep important conversations visible. “Part of me feels every day should be International Womens Day,” she reflects. “But while inequalities still exist, these moments matter, as they shine a light on what still needs to change.” Why this matters to Miniml (and our community) As a female-founded business, Miniml had its own challenges when seeking growth and support in the early stages. As a brand and our team involved, Miniml cares about reducing our customer's load and making live a bit more simple. We do it by creating products that are safe for you, your children, your home, and the planet, so you can cross out one of your daily worries about what nasties may go on your skin and what pollutes your home. Looking at our community, one thing is clear: the people creating calm, clean, welcoming homes are often women - quietly carrying countless responsibilities every single day. This campaign isn’t about encouraging women to start businesses. It’s about recognising what they’ve already built - in companies, communities, and everyday life. This month, if you choose to support another business - support the one that’s been made with a positive mission, such as these four amazing women. We're posting full interviews on our socials this week - head to our Instagram to check out!

Learn moreWhy PFAS (the “forever chemicals”) deserve your attention.
You’ve probably heard about forever-chemicals, hidden in everyday stuff. They’re used to make things water, grease, or stain-resistant: think cleaning products, waterproof fabrics, food packaging, and some personal-care products. But the same traits that make PFAS (forever chemicals) useful, also mean they never break down. Once they’re out there, they stick around. What are the risks of PFAS? PFAS are nicknamed “forever chemicals” because they persist in the environment, soil and water long after we throw products away. Over time they can build up in wildlife and in people. Research links exposure to PFAS with serious health concerns Recent findings show PFAS contamination is widespread in water and soil across the UK. In some areas near industrial sites or chemical plants, water and soil testing reveal PFAS at levels experts say pose a “medium or high risk” to public health. Why PFAS in your home matter It isn’t just industrial pollution that’s the problem. Everyday products, such as non-stick pans, chemical cleaners, certain packaging, maybe even personal-care items, often contain PFAS. That means the exposure could be an unseen part of your daily routine: from how you cook, clean, eat, dress, or even how you wash. Because PFAS are so persistent, repeated exposure, even at low levels, could build up over time. What you can do: Simple steps You don’t need to become a chemist to make your home safer. A few simple swaps can make a real difference: Choose PFA-free cookware or choose pans without non-stick coating. Avoid waterproof sprays, stain-repellents or coated textiles that might rely on PFAS. Use cleaning and care products from transparent, responsible brands — especially those that state clearly they’re PFAS-free, naturally derived, and biodegradable. Why we’re serious about being PFAS-free at Miniml At Miniml we believe cleaning your home shouldn’t come at the cost of your health or the planet. That’s why none of our products contain PFAS. All our formulas are 99%+ naturally derived and 100% biodegradable. So you can scrub your body, wash dishes, clean clothes or refresh fabrics, and rest easy knowing you’re not adding “forever chemicals” to your home, water or the environment. It’s cleaning that’s kind. Easy swaps for everyday life at home If you’re ready to make a change, here are some of the Miniml products you can use instead of conventional household chemistry: Natural Origin Multi-Surface Cleaner For benches, tiles, kitchen surfaces: PFAS-free and effective. Skin-friendly Hand Wash For daily hand-washing without harsh, chemical-heavy soaps. Gut-Safe Washing Up Liquid Cuts grease, rinses clean, biodegrades with no mystery chemicals. Family-friendly Laundry Liquid Gentle on skin and fabrics, PFAS-free, ideal for everyday washing. Safe Oven Cleaner Instead of aerosol kitchen sprays or harsh oven chemicals. 99.2% naturally derived and a safer choice overall.
Learn moreThe Surprising Link Between Natural Cleaning, Your Health, and a Happier Mind
The Surprising Link Between Natural Cleaning, Your Health, and a Happier Mind When we think about improving our health and wellbeing, we often jump straight to nutrition, exercise, or mindfulness. But what about the cleaning products we use every single day? Studies show that the ingredients inside your sprays and soaps can have a bigger impact on your physical and mental health than you might think. At Miniml, what goes into your products matters just as much as the sparkle they leave behind. That’s why every formulation we create is a minimum of 99% natural origin, crafted to be kind to both you and the planet. However, beyond being eco-friendly, natural cleaning ingredients can genuinely enhance your overall well-being both physically and emotionally. 🌿 Breathe Easier, Feel Better Many traditional cleaning products release Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), airborne chemicals that can irritate your lungs, worsen asthma, and even trigger headaches. Switching to green cleaners significantly reduces exposure to these irritants. Our Blood Orange Multi-Surface Cleaner, for example, replaces those harsh chemicals with biodegradable, plant-based ingredients and a burst of citrusy freshness. That zesty scent isn’t just uplifting; research shows that citrus aromas can enhance energy and mood, giving your cleaning routine a natural dopamine boost. 💫 Calm Minds Come from Clean Spaces A tidy, organised environment isn’t just pleasing to look at, it’s good for your mental health. Studies reveal that cleaning can reduce cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone, creating a sense of calm and control. Our Lavender Anti-Bac Surface Spray is designed with that in mind. Lavender has long been associated with relaxation and stress relief, making it the perfect partner for a peaceful cleaning session. Spray, wipe, breathe deeply and let that subtle floral scent melt the tension away. 🌍 Natural Ingredients, Honest Intentions Every ingredient we use at Miniml is carefully chosen for safety, sustainability, and performance. Our formulas are 99.9% naturally derived, with only the smallest amount of non-toxic synthetic ingredients just enough to ensure your products stay safe, stable, and effective. We’re also transparent about what “natural” really means. Natural: Ingredients taken directly from plants, minerals, or other naturally occurring sources with minimal processing. Natural origin: Ingredients that start from something natural but are gently processed to make them safer or more effective. Both are rooted in nature, and both are crafted to care for you, your home, and the planet. ✨ Your Home = Your Wellness Ritual Your home is your sanctuary and the products you use to clean it should nurture that feeling, not disrupt it. By choosing natural cleaning products like Miniml’s Blood Orange Multi-Surface Cleaner or Lavender Anti-Bac Spray, you’re not just reducing toxins and protecting your health. You’re creating a space that smells good, feels good, and does good. Well-being doesn’t start with a yoga mat or a smoothie, it starts with what’s in your spray bottle. Discover Miniml’s full natural cleaning range and experience the difference for yourself: cleaner air, calmer minds, and a happier home.
Learn moreAclean & cosy autumn: Emma's go-to household favourites
By Emma Rudd - Co-Founder of Miniml There’s something magical about autumn, isn’t there? The leaves start to turn, the air feels a little crisper, and suddenly you want to make everything in your home clean, warm & cosy. Although our business is buzzing regardless of the season, in my personal time, I like to hit reset to give our home a good clean, refresh our laundry, and bring a bit of comfort indoors. So, I wanted to share some of my favourite safe and natural cleaning and self-care essentials from Miniml that help keep our home sparkling and calm through the cooler months. 1. Multi-Surface Cleaner – Blood Orange Nothing brightens up a grey autumn day like the smell of citrus! Our Blood Orange Multi-Surface Cleaner is my go-to for wiping down kitchen counters, tables, and all those high-touch areas that tend to get a little sticky this time of year. It cuts through grease effortlessly and that sweet & zesty orange scent instantly refreshes the room. It’s perfect for autumn cleaning when you want to set the mood in your home. Emma’s Tip: Wipe down your radiators before you turn them on for the season, you’ll thank yourself later when that first burst of warm air smells fresh instead of dusty! 2. Bodywash + Bubblebath – English Lavender & Chamomile After a long day of cleaning or running errands in the chilly weather, there’s nothing better than a hot bath. Our English Lavender & Chamomile Bodywash + Bubblebath is my favourite way to unwind. It’s soothing, gentle, and smells like a peaceful night in a spa. Lavender naturally helps you relax, while chamomile soothes dry autumn skin. Our formula is dermatologically tested, so it’s safe even on the most gentle skin. Emma’s Tip: Pop your towels on the radiator before you jump in the bath, it makes your post-bath routine feel like pure luxury. 3. Laundry Liquid – Wild Jasmine & Vanilla Our newest laundry care fragrance, Wild Jasmine & Vanilla, has quickly become a Miniml favourite, and for good reason. It’s elegant, comforting, and fills your home with a gentle floral aroma as your clothes dry. With notes of jasmine, vanilla bean, and a hint of amber, it makes laundry day something to actually look forward to. It’s powered by a 100% natural fragrance and a natural origin formula that’s gentle on sensitive skin, the environment, and it’s safe for the whole family. Emma’s Tip: Add a splash of white vinegar to your rinse cycle every few washes. It helps remove detergent build-up, keeps fabrics soft, and gives your laundry that extra-fresh feeling. Extra Autumn Cleaning Tips. Because autumn cleaning doesn’t have to be a chore, here are a few of my favourite simple swaps and habits to keep your home clean and cosy: Declutter before the chill sets in. Pack away summer bits and make space for blankets and candles. Wipe window sills and skirting boards. They collect dust and pollen over summer. Refresh soft furnishings. Use our Fabric Conditioner in Fresh Linen for that “just washed” scent on cushions and throws. Keep the mud at bay. Place a washable mat at the door and use our Anti-Bac Cleaner – Pink Grapefruit to quickly tackle muddy paw prints. Set the mood. A clean home feels even cosier when it smells inviting: citrus in the kitchen, lavender in the bathroom, and jasmine in the laundry room. Clean Home, Calm Mind I like finding beauty in the everyday, whether it’s folding warm laundry, wiping down a freshly cleaned kitchen, or soaking in a lavender-scented bath. With Miniml, I get to enjoy all those moments knowing everything I use is safe, natural, and made to make life simpler. Ready to give your home an autumn refresh? Shop my autumn essentials now.
Learn moreBack to school: Tackle fabric stains with zero toxic chemicals
The new school year has only just started, but if you’re already battling mud-stained trousers, pen ink explosions, or mysterious lunchbox leaks on school uniforms — you’re not alone. Stains are part of everyday family life, but the good news is, you don’t need harsh chemicals to deal with them. Conventional stain removers often contain chlorine bleach, phosphates, and synthetic fragrances that can irritate sensitive skin and release harmful residues into waterways. Instead, there are plenty of non-toxic, eco-friendly ways to keep school uniforms looking fresh all year round. Here’s your go-to guide for removing the most common back-to-school stains — the natural way. 1. Grass Stains The problem: Grass stains are a rite of passage on school trousers, socks, and PE kits, but they can be stubborn.Non-toxic fix: Pre-treat the stain with a non-bio laundry liquid. Rub a small amount directly onto the fabric, let it sit for 10–15 minutes, then wash as normal. Adding a splash of distilled white vinegar to the wash helps break down pigments and brighten colours naturally. 2. Ink Stains The problem: Pens and markers love to leak when you least expect it.Non-toxic fix: Blot (don’t rub) the stain with a damp cloth, then dab with a mix of white vinegar and water (equal parts). For tougher marks, a gentle, biodegradable multi-surface cleaner can help lift the ink without damaging the fabric. 3. Food & Grease Stains The problem: Packed lunches and school dinners can leave oily marks that water alone won’t shift.Non-toxic fix: A surprising hero here is washing up liquid. A drop of plant-based liquid soap works wonders on grease when applied directly to stains before washing. Look for natural formulas that cut through oil without synthetic detergents, such as our Washing Up Liquid - Wild Rhubarb & Lemon. 4. Mud & Everyday Dirt The problem: Muddy football kits and playground mishaps are inevitable.Non-toxic fix: Shake off excess dirt, then soak the stained clothes in warm water with a cup of natural laundry liquid. Add vinegar for an extra deodorising boost before washing as usual. 5. Sweat & Odour The problem: PE kits and school shirts can hold onto odours even after a wash.Non-toxic fix: Add half a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle to neutralise smells. For extra freshness, natural fabric conditioners made with essential oils can help keep uniforms softer and longer lasting. Why Go Non-Toxic? Kinder to skin: Non-toxic products are free from harsh chemicals, perfect for kids with sensitive skin. When you share your home with furry companions, keeping things clean becomes a daily priority, but did you know that many conventional cleaning products could be putting your pets at risk? From harsh chemicals to artificial fragrances, the ingredients in your average cleaning cupboard might be doing more harm than good. At Miniml, we're all about safe, sustainable swaps - so here’s everything you need to know about pet-friendly cleaning products and why they matter. Why you should avoid conventional chemicals around pets Many high-street cleaning products contain ingredients that are toxic to pets. While these substances may get the job done, they can lead to serious health issues in cats, dogs, and other animals. Ingredients to avoid: Ammonia: found in many glass and floor cleaners; causes respiratory irritation. Bleach (Sodium Hypochlorite): can burn paws and mouths if licked or walked on. Phthalates: often found in synthetic fragrances; can impact hormone function. Formaldehyde: used as a preservative; linked to cancer and allergic reactions. Chlorine: found in disinfectants and toilet bowl cleaners; highly toxic to pets. Even "fresh" smelling floors and worktops could be causing stress to your pet's more sensitive nose or worse, long-term damage to their health. What makes a cleaning product pet-friendly?
